Description
In the last few weeks it hasn't been pleasant to be a businessman at all. Especially if you have a brand name, that is if you are the owner or manager of a company employing several hundreds workers, the anxiety is greater. After the last attack of the authority against the FERSPED Company, whose license has been taken away for a year, it became clear that the atmosphere from the late 90s of the last century, when Ljubco Georgievski's team was ruling and when some strong economic subjects were assaulted even physically, is restored today. Although the seemingly active people in the lead of the same party have liberated themselves from the signs of "comitadji" (rebel forces against the Ottoman Empire, trans.), some methods remain as a lasting mark of the Macedonian Democratic Christian pragmatism when "domestic capitalists" are at stake: they should be treated as a mark of a past system and how such should be destroyed or taken over. The change in the economic structure--as a "constitutional" goal"--is restored in other great systems as well--there is the case of the dispersion of the Clinical Center, the erosion of the State University that has been bereft of many of its attributes for the sake of making many private universities flourish, the reformed Electricity Supply is to become state owned again. Many are the examples of this kind of "Putinization" of the entire system, about which we have already written in the previous issue and which lead us to the dilemma--will there remain a huge company in Macedonia in a short time from now? The latest estitution of the economy will be of a short breadth (it will go in cycles against the "ideological factories; the same as so far) or we will simply witness the "eighth and last offensive" of the demagogical economic and social politics--this is the question that is not avoided in economic circles.
